Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and what you control.

What we collect

When you visit 911petchip.com or place an order, we collect:

  • Account & order info: name, email, phone, shipping address, billing address, clinic or organization name (if applicable).
  • Payment info: processed by Authorize.net through tokenized fields. We never see or store your full credit card number, CVV, or bank info.
  • Communications: any messages you send us via forms, email, or phone.
  • Site usage: IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring site. Used to diagnose issues and improve the site.
  • Cookies: small files used to keep your cart working and remember your preferences. You can disable them in your browser, but parts of the site won't function without them.

How we use it

  • Process and ship your orders.
  • Pre-register your microchips to your clinic or organization in FreePetChipRegistry.
  • Communicate about your order, customer service, and product updates.
  • Improve site performance and security.
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations.

Who we share it with

We don't sell your personal information. Period.

We share limited information only with service providers who help us run the business:

  • Authorize.net — payment processing.
  • Shipping carriers (UPS, USPS, FedEx) — for delivery.
  • Email providers — for order confirmations and customer service.
  • FreePetChipRegistry — our sister company, for chip pre-registration.
  • Fetch Pet Insurance — our insurance referral partner. We may receive a referral commission when a customer obtains a quote through our links. This doesn't affect the price or quote you receive.

We may also disclose information when required by law (subpoena, court order, etc.).

Affiliate disclosures

Some links on our site (including links to Fetch Pet Insurance) are affiliate links. If you obtain a quote or make a purchase through these links, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. We only partner with services we believe genuinely benefit pet owners.

Your rights

You can:

  • Access the information we have about you.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete your information (subject to legal record-keeping requirements).
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time — every email has an unsubscribe link.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what we collect, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right to opt out of any "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We don't sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — you can confirm this at any time.

Canadian residents (PIPEDA): you have similar rights to access and correct your information.

To exercise any of these rights, email admin@911petchip.com.

Data retention

We keep order and account records as long as needed to fulfill orders, support customers, and comply with tax and legal requirements (typically 7 years for financial records).

Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS / TLS) for all data in transit. Payment data flows directly to Authorize.net via tokenized fields — we never store credit card numbers on our servers.

Children's privacy

Our site isn't intended for users under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we'll delete it.

Third-party links

We link to external sites (FreePetChipRegistry, AAHA Lookup, Fetch Pet Insurance, etc.). Their privacy practices are their own — review them directly.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be announced on the site.
